“Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night’s Watch, for this night and all the nights to come.”

It’s been a year since we last saw GoT and what appeared to be the death of one of a crowd favourite. Yesterday, the new Game of Thrones Season 6 trailer was released and it has already broken HBO’s record, having accumulated over 30 million views on YouTube and Facebook in under 24 hours.

Set to the song “Wicked Game” by James Vincent McMorrow, the trailer began with the fallen Jon Snow as Davos reminds us that “He’s gone…” There were several choice lines in the trailer that foreshadow what will likely be the main storylines of the season. Cersei delivered a choice retort that “I choose violence”.

But towards the end of the trailer, we see Ghost and Snow lying dead (I don’t really believe he’s dead) and Davos gives us probably the best line of the trailer with “I’ve never been much of a fighter. Apologies for what you are about to see” before it fades to black.

Its about 45 days to the next season and if you’re a fan of the show, this trailer is only going to get you on the hype train… 24th April certainly can’t come soon enough…
