Almost a week on from the closing ceremony of the SEA Games, some may still feel aggrieved and angry about being locked out of the opening ceremony after getting tickets. The organisers obviously felt the need to deny entry for some safety reasons and offered to compensate those that were locked out with a refund and funpack.
What surprised me most was the reaction of SINGSOC to what appears to be the single blunder in organising the games. As news reports mentioned, some of the big shots at SINGSOC have been going around delivering the fun packs and refunds personally.
As Clarice Teo kindly remarked, there may yet be few other organisations and countries that go out of their way to ensure that people get their refunds. Perhaps what everyone just needed to do was calm down… they would handle it.
