Two foreign workers were today awarded the Public Spiritedness Award for rescuing a toddler whose head had been stuck between the rails of a clothes-drying rack. The two Indian nationals climbed up to the second floor and attended to the toddler. Mr Shanmuganathan and Mr Muthukumar are being hailed as heroes for saving the little girl and rightly so. She could very well have been grievously hurt if swift aid did not come.

These two men may not have capes or uniforms. They may just be ordinary people but they have shown all of us that they have heart. I would not want to think about what could have been if they had not shown up. So as we go out and about, let’s all remember that every single one of us can make a difference.

In case you missed it, here are the two videos of our heroes.
