The Online Citizen started a donation drive last month to raise funds for their General Elections 2015 (if it really is in 2015) coverage. So far, about $10,053 has been pledged of the $30,000 target.
With just over 25 days to go and already a month into it, it seems donations are not coming in as smoothly as people would have thought. Thinking back to the other most recent “alternative voice” that carried out crowdsourcing, TOC’s donation drive seems to be going much slower than CPF reform hero Roy Ngerng’s. Mr Ngerng exceeded his donation target of S$70,000 four days after he started appealing for donations.
Perhaps what TOC needs to do is to get themselves sued and start a “Legal Defence Fund”.
