Male commuters who take the train everyday beware! PAP MP Lily Neo and WP MP Low Thia Khiang probably think the worst of you, after they suggested that SMRT install ‘women-only’ cabins in Singapore.

For those who don’t know, women-only cabins are prevalent in Japan and India where female commuters have a high risk of getting molested when they take public transport.

Is there really such a big risk in Singapore?

Yes, we agree that more protection for women is always good. But on the other hand, we don’t think a women’s-only cabin is practical at all on Singapore’s already jam-packed train cabins.

Especially since most men in Singapore can keep their hands to themselves. So please make practical suggestions can?
